What brought us to this valley

Sue started her career as an electrical engineer. Wanting a new challenge, Sue attended law school and passed both the Federal Patent Bar and the Florida Bar, and went to work as a Patent Attorney for the prestigious Ackerman Senterfitt law firm in Palm Beach, Florida.

Emily has been a practicing attorney for 25 years. Her primary focus has been in the area of family law including domestic violence. adoption, and mediation. She received her law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1997. She was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida for two years.  She then moved into private practice in a Family Law Firm. After a move with her family to the west coast of Florida, She served as supervising attorney of the Lee County Family Court Unit which included supervising the Domestic Violence Unit, and improving and developing new practices and procedures in the family courts. Emily was instrumental in creating a system entitled "One Family, One Judge" whereby all family law cases were heard by one family law judge. This system improved the efficiency of cases for both judges and litigants.  Emily left her role as Family Court Supervisor to transition to a role of Circuit Court General Magistrate for the 20th Judicial Circuit Courts of Florida where she served from 2003-2008.
