5Point Film

Julie Kennedy established the 5Point Film Festival in the fall of 2007 to provide a central gathering place for adventurous spirits, filmmakers, and athletes—a place that fosters a community where individuals come together to share their common passions.

5Point serves a critical role in providing a unique community-based event. It is a key cultural program for Roaring Fork Valley locals and also attracts audience participation from across the state of Colorado and around the country during our spring shoulder season. Each year, ​5Point Adventure Film Festival ​produces a 4-day Flagship festival in Carbondale, CO at the end of April. This 16-year-old event showcases inspiring adventure films intertwined with surprise guests, musical performances, and “participatory” events. We screen more than 60 films during the festival and host dozens of filmmakers and athletes from around the world, creating an inclusive gathering of our outdoor and creative communities. In addition to film programs, the Flagship festival has included live recordings of podcasts, panel discussions, spoken word performances, book signings, family activities, and live art demonstrations. 5Point Adventure Film Festival is a 1% for the Planet partner and operates a zero-waste event.
